To most parents the familiar cry of, “Are we there yet?” is a common echo from the back seat of the family car. It may be painful but if you stop and think about it for a second, it’s absolutely human. Kids, like the rest of us, want to get there without taking the trip. It’s human nature! I have absolute sympathy and can strongly relate to the ankle biters because I too am now asking “Are we there yet?”
Businesses of any size in any industry have no doubt encountered the tender process. It’s convoluted, boring, and time consuming, but it’s a necessary part of securing new business. Like a brochure or website or any other marketing activity, tenders are a way to showcase your business. Whilst tenders are notoriously inflexible, there are many small things any business can implement and when combined, really make an impact.
As a graphic designer I have an unusual love of brands. I love looking at well designed brands, I love reading about brands, I love working out why another designer created a brand the way they did and most of all I love designing brands. What I don’t love is working with brands that haven’t been loved enough to have their finished art completed correctly.
Yep…sorry. It’s that time of year. For most it’s just another month but to business it symbolises another year over and a new one on the horizon. Many will find this one the toughest in a long time. For some it will be the first time that a budget has really been a serious consideration since the bank asked for one! So what’s in store for 09/10?
We always stress the importance of consistency in brand application, and an important part of this is constant correct colour reproduction.
There is nothing that frustrates me more than a beautiful piece of design work or well written copy with a spelling mistake or grammatical error staring right out at you. Once you’ve noticed it nothing else seems to matter. The worst part of all it is so easy to avoid yet can tarnish your work immensely.
